Gerson moved to Yogyakarta in 2002 and started playing music on the streets. From then on he played in several bands. Gerson began his solo project with the Reggae genre under the name Black Finit in 2010.
On November 25, 2011, Black Finit released a 6-track EP album, Kiri Kanan, through its own label, Gong Waning Production. In 2015 his first full album was released which contained 11 songs under the title Digiyo Digiye. In 2017, Gerson was invited to collaborate by producer Grayce Soba (Soba Studio) to record several EDM (Electronic Dance Music) genre songs where Gerson played guitar and sang. This collaboration gave birth to several singles including "Mims", "No Rules" and "Pink Dinner".
In 2018, Black Finit collaborated with DoggyHouse Records to release a single titled "Bukan Puisi". This composition created by photographic artist Angki Purbandono will be a new experience for Black in terms of singing songs by other people and working with a professional production team. In 2020 he released HITZ, including 4 songs. In the meantime Black Finit was working on his album “Tana, which he unfortunately never finished.
